Tips from Craig
Keeping your blade sharp and the underside of your mower deck clean, will both help prevent the tips of your grass from browning and also improve air flow. Which will alow your mower to perform at its full potential. Leaving a smoother finish and a nicer looking lawn.
Oil is essentially the life of your engine. Oil is naturally consumed by the engine. Therefor it is important to monitor and change your engines oil and filter on a regular basis. Oil should be checked prior to each use of your mower to ensure it is at proper operating level. Oil should be changed approximately every 50 hours or annually. One step towards preserving the life of your mower.
Since the 1980's gasoline has contained additives that cause it to degrade. This can become problematic in approximately 30 days. The gasoline looses its ability to combust as well as it begins to gel. This can cause carburation issues as well as valve problems, and in the case of a 2-stoke engine it could quickly end its life. This problem is easily avoided with the use of fuel stabilizers, which prolong the degrading process for up to 12 months. Stabilizers are a preventative and not a cure. They can be purchased as an additive and are also contained in some 2-stoke oils.
