Tips From The Pros

To help prevent rodent infestations keep clutter around the outside of your home to a minimum as this may become harborage areas for mice and rats. Also if you feed birds, clean feed spillage areas as this will attract rodents as well.

If you are a yard/garage sale buyer, before bringing items into your home clean the items thoroughly and when possible treat with an aerosol insecticide such as Konk 400 with baygon. Doing this may save you HUNDREDS of dollars if you inadvertently bring cockroaches or bedbugs into your home. You do not want to inherit someone else’s pest problems.

To help prevent food pest infestations, such as Indian mealmoth (Plodia interpunctella, primarily a cereal grain pest) store open packages in resealable containers. Don’t forget about pet food as there products are mainly cereal based. Also buy smaller sized portions if possible.
